CINNAMON NUT LOAF ???
THIS IS A CRY FOR HELP!!!
I need help in identifying this and also would like the recipe.
When I was a girl this was one of my dads favorites and he would bring this home from the store often. I believe he bought it in a grocery store from a shelf near the bread and rolls.
It is made with a heavy pastry-like dough that is thin but not flaky. It was made and filled with finely chopped nuts, that were mixed with sugar and a lot of cinnamon. Possibly butter was also in the mix. No raisins.
Each loaf was about 4 X 5 inches and pre sliced. Each slice was probably a quarter of an inch thick.
It was a solid little loaf, nothing light and fluffy about it.
I have tried to capture it by memory here with watercolor and ink.
I hope some Flickr friend recognizes it and helps me out.. I have been searching for a long time.
