This represents the Joy of Painting, especially with Watercolor.

I wanted to try a new technique I had read about for backgrounds, and had NO IDEA what I would paint, or end up with.

The technique is as follows. Take a cheap plastic grocery bag and squeeze it into a ball making as many crinkles as possible.

Open it up carefully without stretching out the wrinkles, and cut a piece a little larger than your paper.(I would use at least 90 lb. paper, and 140 lb would be better for this.)

Wet your paper thoroughly, and while it shines, drop in as much color as you wish remembering it dries lighter.

Cover your paper with the scrunched plastic and carefully press it down all over but don't move it around. Let it dry overnight and you will have a delightful surprise when you peel it off the next day!

Then try to find your subject...or you may have one in mind.

I visualized these blooming artichokes and ''found'' them with Ink and then added Watercolor for definition.

So much fun....as painting should always be!!...:)
