SPRING TULIPS
SPRING TULIPS
Watercolor & Ink
''A throbbing in the head does not a painting make''...:)
I told the story of my sudden terrific headache under my painting of the ''Wonky Buildings''....and I have still had that headache since March 12 th.
On and off but more on than off!
Finally though, this morning and throughout the day today I feel that it is winding down...and I made this start at getting back to regular painting.

CARDINAL SINGING IN MAPLE TREE
CARDINAL SINGING IN MAPLE TREE
I went for a walk around the gardens since the weather is perfection, sun shining, slight breeze, and just under 70 degrees...my kind of weather. My overwintered parsley is about 6 inches tall already, so I harvested some and will have Parsley Potatoes for dinner...a fave.
While I was in the garden a Bright Red Cardinal came and serenaded me with his glorious song...as he perched in the bright chartreuse of the Maple tree blooms above...what a Joy that was ...I just had to sit down awhile and enjoy his beautiful song and soak up some vitamin D sunshine...it felt as if nothing could be better than this...:)
This is similar to the call/song of my Cardinal this morning...but I think mine was more melodic...:)

BUILDINGS DOODLED
BUILDINGS DOODLED
I was just doodling around today...about all I am capable of right now....:)
I had a strange accident last Monday late afternoon. I was eating an apple and inhaled a piece of it into my windpipe and I coughed so hard to get it out that suddenly something POPPED in my forehead like a gunshot inside my head...immediately I had the worst headache of my life.... after a few minutes it got a little better, but I could hardly move my head the pain was so intense. I was concerned about a stroke...although I checked myself and had no symptoms....but my daughter took me to the ER where they did a Catscan to check for bleeding in the brain or stroke etc. I was OK....and the headache was lessening...but it has been hanging on for the week and today was the first day I was able to not have to use pain medication.
Needless to say I have not felt like painting...so I just Doodled...:)
I used Watercolor, Ink, and Picasa editing for this.
I know my buildings are leaning a bit...but so am I...;)...;)...:D

FIRST FLOWERS OF SPRING .. CROCUS
It is sunny and an amazing almost 80 degrees here in SW Michigan...absolutely beautiful weather today. Monday night we had Tornado warnings, Wednesday we woke up to total fog...I couldn't see trees in the driveway...and now we have summer conditions...in Mid March!!
And the sun is to continue in the 80's all week!
Happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone!!

FLAT BRUSH EXPERIMENT
FLAT BRUSH EXPERIMENT
I have always used round brushes...but I wanted to experiment with a 3/4 inch flat brush I have with a plastic beveled handle.
Windsor Newton brush.
I have never used flat brushes...quite a different feel, but I like some of the possibilities...:) Handle end is good for scraping too...:)
I bought this brush in about 1985...and think I paid around 15 to 20 dollars for it then...:) Must be worth a fortune now...:) :)

QUEEN ANNE FUN
I have had a full day of painting today, and decided to finish off the day with a playful, carefree, totally unplanned painting.
I knew it would be of Queen Annes Lace...and I began with Neocolor Crayons....then added Watercolor & Ink...totally spontaneous...and to me, these spontaneous paintings are the most fun of any painting I do...:)
YELLOW LILY WATERCOLOR PAINTING
YELLOW LILY WATERCOLOR PAINTING
I have been planning to paint a Yellow Lily for a long time.
I resisted the temptation to add Ink to this one.
Unfortunately the yellow didn't photo well and the background has more red than shows here.
DAFFODIL DREAMING
DAFFODIL DREAMING
Daffodils & Tulips seem to be on my mind lately...and with the snow finally melted and some sunshiny days, I might find some in the garden soon...:)
This painting is done with Watercolor and Ink.
