CALLA LILY PLAY
After the details of the Iris painting yesterday, I felt the need to be more playful and fast and lose....I pulled this one out of my junk bin, and literally went wild with it....:)
By the way...I am still NOT using any green from the tubes....all greens in all my work are from mixing various yellows and blues.

GEESE IN MY FIELD..RAINY, OVERCAST DAY
GEESE IN MY FIELD..RAINY, OVERCAST DAY
There are many geese that winter over all around this area. This is a small flock, as usually there are at least a dozen.
I live a block from the Thornapple River and geese have been flying over and honking daily, but today six of them decided to land in my freshly mown field.
I was afraid to get closer since they might fly away...however right after taking the picture, all six of them flew by my window, honking 'goodbye'...as I was loading this photo...:)

LOTUS DETAIL OF ANTIQUE SILK EMBROIDERED PAINTING
EMBROIDERED SILK PAINTING..ANTIQUE
This was given to me years ago and is a beautiful thing to look at.
The frame is made of real bamboo and it is a real Chinese Embroidered Silk Painting.
I have loved it for a long time.
Across the bottom is a hand printed declaration of friendship.
It is about 4 1/2 ft. tall and 2 ft. wide, and hangs in my foyer.

THE END OF SUMMER
This is Watercolor & Inks with a touch of white acrylic.
My friend Sterling posted a photo from his garden on Facebook, of a drooping Sunflower, which made me think, what better example of the end of summer.
Thank you for the inspiration Sterling...:)

RED MEANS STOP!!!!
Of the many thousands of mushroom species in the world, only 32 have been associated with fatalities, and an additional 52 have been identified as containing significant toxins.[6] By far the majority of mushroom poisonings are not fatal,[7] but the majority of fatal poisonings are attributable to the Amanita phalloides mushroom
DO NOT EAT!!!!

MAGIC MUSHROOMS....:)
I had so much fun with yesterdays Mushroom Madness, that I decided to paint more of them.
I call them Magic Mushrooms since this little sketch came so fast and free...:)
Watercolor & Ink
Once again, the beginning ink is the Elegant Writer calligrapy pen which I used to draw the mushrooms...then I wet the lines with brush and water which makes an explosion of blue/pink/grey....then I added the watercolor....finally touches from a Micron pen and a Pentel white gel pen...:)
MUSHROOM MADNESS
Sometimes after I have been painting awhile with a lot of detail and a lot of concentration, I just can't wait for a chance to get really carefree and slop some paint and ink around! That is why I call this Mushroom Madness!...:)

GOLDENROD PLUS
Cattails, Goldenrod, Teasels, and Sour Dock.
Solidago, commonly called goldenrods, is a genus of about 100 species of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae.[1] Most are herbaceous perennial species found in the meadows and pastures, along roads, ditches and waste areas in North America. There are also a few species native to Mexico, South America, and Eurasia.[1] Some American species have also been introduced into Europe and other parts of the world.
