MY SON MARCUS AS A TEENAGER
Yesterday was my son Marcus's Birthday and looking through photos I wanted to share one of my favorites....he is a TEENAGER in this photo...and it was taken when he was in LA near the beginning of his music career, before he went into Opera and Vocal coaching.

SPROUTED WHEAT...DAY 8
SPROUTED WHEAT...DAY 8
Here are the Wheat Sprouts I started 8 days ago. They sprouted on the 2nd day. After that I stopped soaking them and started rinsing them a couple of times a day(they cannot completely dry out), and kept them on the windowsill. Here I have taken a few out of the jar and put them on a layer of very wet paper towels where they will grow taller.
Go back two photos to see how I started this process...with instructions.
I will have some in salad today..:)
(The Barley did not sprout, leading me to believe it was too old, or had been treated with something. I will get new seeds.)

SIMPLE SPROUTING
SIMPLE SPROUTING..DAY 2..WHEAT & BARLEY
We have such a short growing season here that I have decided to start sprouting seeds...it is so simple..and note I didn't even cut the fabric net to a perfect round shape...or take the label off the jar...I wanted to show how easy it is!
On the first day wash the seeds/grains several times (in the jar), fill half full of water and let soak overnite on your counter. Next day wash several times just by filling jar and draining through mesh. Add water again and soak again overnite...3rd day wash again, and this time drain and do not add water....instead lay jar on side in the window, shaking a bit to distribute seeds....rinse and drain each day. In a few days you should have sprouts for salads, sandwiches, omelets and snacks.
