CHRISTMAS DAY
CHRISTMAS DAY 2013 ...MY FAMILY'S BACK YARD AND BRANDI THE FAMILY DOG.
I spent the whole day at my daughter's home with the family, and my son-in-laws family. They came from California, Oklahoma, & Michigan. My daughter is very lucky to have married into such a nice family. I think I have kind of ''adopted'' them too, and we spend a lot of holidays together. My granddaughter being the only granddaughter is highly favored by us all and of course gets a lot of love...not to mention Christmas gifts...but she knows the importance of family too and it's not just all about presents. A Happy Day of togetherness...
It was snowing a lot of the day, as it was when I took the photos...the strange ''moon/sun'' in the first pic was probably a reflection of a light somewhere..... I was outside when I took these and you can see some bright specks of Snowflakes.
This was the most visually beautiful Christmas in my memory....

POPPY SEED PODS...MIXED MEDIA
WATERCOLOR & INK on YUPO PAPER
This is my first attempt at WATERCOLOR on YUPO paper...using 3 Inks including the ELEGANT WRITER PEN, PITT PEN & BALLPOINT.
POPPY SEED PODS...are some of my favorite things...
Now for the bad news.....As much as I love ALCOHOL INK...I believe I have a severe nasal and respiratory allergy that has developed from it....I have been a little miserable with it for several days and I quit using the AI...and after 5 days it is beginning to subside. But at least I did discover Yupo Paper...so I am having fun trying watercolor and mixed media using it.

TREES IN BACK OF MY FIELD
I took this photo yesterday of the trees in the little shopping center behind my back field....I drove up there to get a close shot...but they can be seen from my field. It is a good thing I took it yesterday because there is wind and lots of rain today...so the leaves may be gone tomorrow...

RED LEAVES ON THE GROUND
AUTUMN
THE LEAVES FALL AROUND
AND COVER THE GROUND
IT'S AUTUMN.
THE RAIN SLOWLY COMES
LIKE THE SOUND OF BEATING DRUMS
IT'S AUTUMN.
POEM I WROTE IN THE 4TH, 5TH OR 6TH GRADE
I think this is an example of how important teacher's approval is to children...my teacher approved and I have remembered this poem now for over 60 YEARS....
I took this photo today in my family's back yard. ALL of the RED leaves were off all the trees, and only some yellow's were left on them with some brown ones too. Mostly all Maples and Oaks. You can see some acorns also....
RAIN ON THE FIELDS
RAIN ON THE FIELDS...ALCOHOL INK

MY FIRST ALCOHOL INK EXPERIMENT
I finally have finished my first ALCOHOL INK EXPERIMENT.....I do not have the proper paper(Yupo) or tiles yet...(You need a slick surface)....but I thought a cottage cheese carton lid might work (the inside) for experimenting....and so I gave it a whirl. Quite interesting what can be done with this stuff... I only have 3 colors so far...I think I could get hooked on this!

DRIVING IN THE LOCAL AREA
Yesterday the family and I took a drive around our local area which has delightful curvy roads and quaint little townships, parks, several covered bridges and rivers, and lots of trees...We were checking for color...but the trees have not reached their maximum color potential yet...maybe in a week or so....
